Use Ada in Discord
Use Ada in Discord when your team wants help from a Discord server. A server admin controls where Ada is available. People connect their Discord profile to Lovelace when Ada needs their Lovelace history.

What Ada Can Do In Discord
Ada works where the team is coordinating in a Discord server:

Discord server settings control commands by channel, role, and user. If Ada works in one channel but not another, check the server settings for that channel.
Before You Add Ada
You need a Discord server where Ada appears, permission to add apps to that server or help from someone who has that permission, access to the Lovelace workspace where your team uses Ada, and permission to connect apps for that workspace.
Some teams have Ada enabled by an owner before regular members use it. If Ada is already in your server, skip to Use Ada in Discord.
What Discord Will Ask You To Approve
Discord's review screen lists the jobs Ada needs to do:

Do not approve the connection if the review screen asks for something that does not fit these jobs.
Add Ada To Discord
- Open the Discord connection flow from Lovelace, or use the Ada invite link your Lovelace workspace owner provides.
- Choose the Discord server where Ada appears.
- Read Discord's review screen.
- Approve the connection.
- Open Discord and find Ada in the server.
If you cannot choose the server, ask a Discord server admin to complete setup.
Use Ada In Discord
Use an Ada command when the server has commands enabled:
/ada ask what can you help with here?
Mention Ada in a channel where Ada is allowed:
Ada, summarize the plan from this channel.
If Ada asks you to connect your Lovelace account, follow that prompt before asking for work that depends on your personal Lovelace history.
Account Connection
Ada asks a person to connect their Discord profile to Lovelace when Ada needs to know which Lovelace account belongs to the Discord member.
Connecting your profile does not add Ada to every Discord server and does not give other Discord members access to your Lovelace account.
Admin Controls And Disconnect
Discord server admins control where Ada appears and which channels use Ada commands. Lovelace workspace owners control whether the Lovelace workspace allows Ada in Discord.
Disconnecting Discord has three forms:
- a server admin removes Ada from the server
- a server admin changes which channels use Ada
- a person disconnects their Discord profile from Lovelace
Removing Ada from a server stops Ada from answering there. Disconnecting a profile stops Discord from being connected to that person's Lovelace account, but it does not remove Ada for everyone else.
Data And History
Ada uses Discord commands, mentions, and conversation context where Ada is asked to help. Disconnecting Discord removes Discord access or account connection, but it does not delete Lovelace-owned conversations or Library resources.
Troubleshooting

| Ada is in the server but commands do not appear | Check whether commands are enabled for that server, channel, role, or user. |
| Ada does not answer in a channel | Confirm Ada is allowed in that channel, then use an Ada command or mention Ada there. |
| Ada asks you to connect your account | Follow the account connection prompt so Ada knows which Lovelace account is yours. |
| Ada answers some people but not others | Check whether those people have connected their Discord profile to Lovelace. |
| Ada disappeared from the server | Ask a server admin whether Ada was removed or channel access changed. |
| Disconnect did not delete Lovelace history | This is expected. Disconnecting Discord removes Discord access, not user-owned Lovelace work. |
