Use Ada in Linear
Add Ada to Linear when your team wants help inside issue-driven work. Linear is where the issue, comments, and handoff live; Ada answers in that same context so the team can keep decisions with the work.

What Ada Can Do In Linear
Ada works in Linear when work is expressed through issues and comments.

Linear treats agents as workspace participants that are mentioned, assigned work, and part of the issue conversation. Ada works that way: bring Ada into the issue instead of copying the issue somewhere else.
Before You Add Ada
You need permission to add apps to the Linear workspace, access to the Lovelace workspace where your team uses Ada, and permission to connect apps for that Lovelace workspace.
Check the Linear workspace name before approving. If your company has multiple Linear workspaces, connect the one where Ada will work.
What Linear Will Ask You To Approve
Linear's review screen lists the jobs Ada needs to do:

Do not approve the connection if the review screen asks for something that does not fit these jobs.
Add Ada To Linear
- Open the Linear connection flow from Lovelace.
- Choose the Linear workspace where Ada appears.
- Read Linear's review screen.
- Read the Lovelace data notice.
- Approve the connection.
- Open a Linear issue where it is safe to test Ada.
If Linear does not let you approve the connection, ask a Linear workspace admin to complete setup.
Use Ada In Linear
Mention Ada when you want help inside the issue thread:
Ada, can you summarize the current state of this issue?
Ask for a next step when the issue is blocked:
Ada, what is the next step to unblock this?
Delegate clear work when the issue has enough context for Ada to start. Include the expected result, constraints, and links Ada needs. Keep follow-up decisions in the same issue thread so the team can see the reasoning.
Account Connection
Ada asks a person to connect their Linear profile to Lovelace when Ada needs to connect issue work to the same Lovelace account the person uses in other Ada surfaces.
Connecting a Linear profile does not make the person a Linear admin and does not share their Lovelace account with other Linear members.
Admin Controls And Disconnect
Workspace admins manage whether Ada is connected to Linear. Review settings after setup, after workspace ownership changes, or when Ada stops answering in issues.
Disconnecting Linear:
- stops Ada from answering in that Linear workspace
- removes Lovelace's access to that Linear workspace
- turns off Linear issue conversations connected to Ada
- keeps Lovelace conversations and Library resources that belong to users
To reconnect, start the Linear connection flow from Lovelace again and approve the same Linear workspace.
Data And History
Ada uses the Linear issue, comments, and assigned work where Ada is asked to help. Disconnecting Linear removes Linear access, but it does not delete Lovelace-owned conversations or Library resources.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to check |

| You cannot approve Ada in Linear | Make sure you have permission to add apps to the Linear workspace. |
| You approved the wrong Linear workspace | Disconnect Ada from that workspace, then connect the right one from Lovelace. |
| Ada does not answer in an issue | Confirm the workspace is connected, then mention Ada again in a new comment. |
| Ada cannot tell who you are | Connect your Linear profile to Lovelace when Ada asks. |
| Ada cannot act on an issue | Confirm the issue is in the connected workspace and Ada was asked in a supported issue conversation. |
| Ada stopped after work was assigned | Check the issue thread for a question from Ada or a request to connect an account. |
| Disconnect did not delete Lovelace history | This is expected. Disconnecting Linear removes Linear access, not user-owned Lovelace work. |
